Alex Scortzaru

Alex Scortzaru is a Senior Information Technology Leader at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory with over 30 years of experience in various industries. He is a visionary leader who has spearheaded successful information technology initiatives for organizations such as Providence Health and Services, Kadlec Health System, and Oregon Health & Science University. Alex's expertise spans across Clinical and Business Applications, Enterprise Technology, Customer Service and Support, Service Desk, Telecommunications, Network & Infrastructure, Clinical Engineering, Health Information Management, and Project Management.

Alex is a trailblazer in his field, holding a Ph.D. in Information Technology, a Master's in Business Administration, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) by the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He holds Program Management, Six Sigma Green Belt, ITIL, and Epic Certifications. Alex is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Aside from his professional achievements, Alex is a devoted family man and enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife Michelle and youngest daughter in West Richland. He takes advantage of all the activities the Pacific Northwest has to offer, from hiking, biking, and kayaking to skiing and boating. Alex is also a dedicated community volunteer, having served on the Board of Directors for United Way for six years and holding various leadership positions for the PMI Columbia River Basin chapter.
