VP of Communications
Rachel Thompson is a Contracts Specialist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. In this role, Rachel is responsible for the initialization, oversight, and close-out of multiple projects. Prior to joining the lab in 2015, she worked as a Project Manager in the construction industry for several years. In addition, Rachel has over 20 years technical and management experience in the food service and food manufacturing industry.
Rachel is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Professional Writing and French from Washington State University. In addition, she has a certificate in Professional Science and Technology Writing from Washington State University. She is currently working on a Master’s Degree in American and Transnational Law with a concentration in Government Contracting and Procurement at the University of Dayton.
Rachel relocated to Tri-Cities from Louisiana in 2013. She enjoys cooking, traveling, and spending time with her husband and five children. They are often seen volunteering in the local community through a variety of non-profit organizations.
