Alex Scortzaru is a Director of Information Technology at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. With more than 30 years of technical and management experience in various industries Alex Scortzaru held various Information Technology management positions at Providence Health and Services, Kadlec Health System in Richlnad, WA Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR and University of Vermont in Burlington, VT. In these positions, Alex has been responsible for information technology activities including Clinical and Business Applications, Enterprise Technology, Customer Service and Support, Service Desk, Telecommunications, Network & Infrastructure, Clinical Engineering, Health Information Management and Project Management.
Alex Scortzaru holds a Master in Business Administration from University of Vermont, and Bachelor Science in Electrical Engineering from Timisoara, Romania. Alex Scortzaru is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by Project Management Institute (PMI) and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS) by Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Additionally he holds Program Management, Six Sigma Green Belt, ITIL and Epic Certifications. Alex Scortzaru is a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).
Alex Scortzaru is giving back to the local community by volunteering to local nonprofit organizations. He was on the Board of Directors for United Way for six years and is the Executuve VP for the PMI Columbia River Basin chapter a position that he held for the last year. Prior to that he was the VP of Professional Development for the PMI CRB.
