Executive VP

Mike Sheridan

My name is Mike Sheridan and I live with my spouse of 30+ years in Kennewick, Washington. We have lived in the Tri-Cities since 2006 after moving here from Western New York (South of Buffalo). I graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY and went to work in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Submarine Program in Charleston, SC immediately after graduating. Twelve (12) years later, upon BRACC closure of the Naval Shipyard, we found employment at West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) where we were involved with the first demonstration of High-Level Waste Vitrification in the Nation. Moving to the Tri-Cities in 2006, I spent my first three years at Hanford with the WTP Project, followed by seven years with WRPS at the Hanford Tanks Farms. I am currently the Commissioning & Operations Quality Assurance Manger back at the WTP Project. Looking back over my career I realized that, certified or not, I was performing the skills of project management for most of my entire career so in 2002 I obtained my PMP Certification and have remained a Certified PMP ever since. In that process, I was the recipient of much help and assistance from many PMPs and the local Buffalo PMI Chapter and I see this as my opportunity to give back to the profession and pay-it-forward so to speak. I was an active member of the Buffalo Chapter of PMI until I transferred my membership here to the PMI CRB Chapter. I am currently volunteering in the role of Executive-VP and am enjoying sharing the leadership lessons I’ve learned to assist the chapter, its members, and look forward to helping guide it into future, leaving the Chapter better than it was when I joined the Board.
